Eunice Arline Dunn

Our beloved mother, cousin aunt and friend took her wings as it pleased Almighty God to transition her from labor to reward in Northern Cardinal Rehabilitation and Nursing, Suffolk, Va.

Eunice A Dunn was born January 26, 1937, to the late Elnora V. Lawton Holley. She attended school in Nansemond County. She dedicated her life to the Lord and became a member of True Gospel Ministries under the leadership of her pastor Reverend George Smith. She was married to Pernell Thomas and from this union she was blessed with five sons, Rickey, Ronnie, Standley, Gregory and Jeffrey. She later married Deacon Walton Dunn.

Eunice’s life was an unwavering commitment for service to her Lord and Savior. She spent many years in New Jersey and after leaving, she joined Diamond Grove Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Solomon Diggs and Friendship COGIC under the leadership of Dr. Joe A. Chase, Sr. After moving to downtown Suffolk, she joined True Gospel. She loved her Pastor and his family. His is where she served faithfully until her health began to fail. She was very compassionate, warm, friendly, kindhearted and loved to write poems. She loved our children and babysat for Nicholas, Quiera, Olemari and Deondre. She is predeceased by her mother, Elnora, three sons; Ricky, Standley and Jeffrey; her brother John Junious Ramsey and her sister Lois Lawton.

Eunice leaves to cherish her memories two sons, Ronnie (Lynn), Gregory and a host of family members. We are thankful to have been blessed with one who did not mind sharing her love and friendships with those who would receive it. Her life was not always easy but she was a fighter and an overcomer. 2nd Timothy states “I have fought a good fight. I have finished my course. I have kept the faith.
