Eugene Cottle Jr. was born on June 25, 1950 in New York to Eugene Cottle Sr. and Pauline Mann Cottle. He finished high school and joined the U.S. Marine Corp where he fought in the Vietnam War and came out with an Honorable Discharge. On April 09, 2020, God dispatched the Angel to carry him home. God knows just how much we can bear. Eugene married Earnestine Townes in 1985 and out of this union they had twin boys; Martin Lewis Cottle, and Martine Louis Cottle. He was preceded in death by his parents Eugene Cottle Sr. and Pauline Mann Cottle; one brother Phillip Cottle, and three sisters; Felicia Holliman, Valarie Bryant and Myra Cottle. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Earnestine Cottle of Smithfield, Va., two sons; Martin L. Cottle and Martine L. Cottle of Smithfield, Va., a Step-daughter; Ramona Willis of Suffolk, Va.,Five grandchildren- Takyren Smallwood, Matthew Benjamin Louis Cottle, Amiyah Rebekka Sharde Cottle, Armoni McIntyre, and William Mullins. Two brothers; Edward Cottle (Channie) and Leonard Cottle (Shelia) both of New York. Five sisters; Deborah Durant (Lawrence), Zelda Myrna Cottle, Nina C. Hazard, Kenyetta Cottle, Donyetta Alston of New York. Three brother-in laws of Virginia; Melvin Lee, Vincent (Lorie), and Thomas (Yvonne); two sister-in laws of Virginia; Nellie and Janet. One Aunt; Annette Robinson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral arrangements are pending and will be announced at a later date. Mr. Cottle is in the loving and professional care of Shivers Funeral Chapel.
