On this special day, we pause to celebrate the life and memory of a beautiful, God fearing woman in Christ Jesus who passed from labor to reward on Thursday, March 27th, 2025 at Riverside Hospital. She was a kind person to all who knew her.
Ethel Mae Robinson, affectionately known as “Sister’’ was one of 17 children born to Charles and Lucy Robinson of Smithfield, Virginia on May 29th, 1954. In 1972 until 1976, Ethel devoted her service to the United State Military as an army soldier and was proud of her patriotism; in addition, Ethel also retired from the Smithfield Packing Plant after approximately 35 years of service as an assembly line worker. Ethel never married, but she was a loving best friend to her roommate Robert Mayville of twenty- five years and siblings. She dedicated her life in helping and being supportive to family, friends, and strangers to the best of her ability in her own unique way. During her leisure time, Ethel enjoyed shopping, traveling, eating soul & exotic foods. Spending quality time with family and friends was vitally important to her as well.
Ethel was an active member of the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ for 69 years. As a proud member of the church, she served with honor, integrity, and dignity. Ethel often conveyed to others her Christian belief and did it proudly. She was a good example of always keeping the faith and having total trust in God.
Ethel will always be remembered for her warm smile, kindness, and beautiful personality. Her favorite phrases that she often used while having a conversation with others were: “I Know that’s Right! Girl Please! You hear Me! lm’ma Love You and Leave You! Y’all I Gots To Get My Rest!
“Sister” is predeceased by her parents, and one sibling her brother David.
Ethel is survived by her 16 siblings, Janice, Charles Jr., Anthony, Timothy, Lisa, Maxine, Sherrod, Samuel, Dwight, Ruby, Phyllis Jason, Tessia, Ricardo, and Christoper and a host of nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
