Mrs. Ethel L. King of Carrollton, Virginia departed this life on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 in the afternoon at her home in Carrollton, Va. She was the widow of Willis A. King, Sr. and the daughter of the late Josephine and George Hatten. Her son, Willis A. King Jr. preceded her in death also. Ethel was educated in Nansemond County Public Schools. She lived in Carrollton, Virginia for 56 years and retired from General Electric Inc. in Portsmouth, Virginia. She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church, Suffolk, Virginia. Her survivors are her sons Hubert A. King of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Richard D. King of Williamsburg, Virginia; her daughter Sylvia A. King of Portsmouth, Virginia; one sister Louise Parker of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; andsister-in-law Sylvia Hatton of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; one brother-in-law Clyde King and his wife Redell King of Williamsburg, Virginia;many nieces, nephews, cousins and host of friends. A Funeral Service will be held 11am Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at Shivers Funeral Chapel. Viewing Tuesday, July 28, 2015 from 4-7pm at the chapel. Interment will be in the Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery, Suffolk, Virginia.
