Ethel Mae Crocker

November 9, 1949 — February 16, 2022

Ethel Mae Crocker of the 1700 block of Mt. Lebanon Avenue, Suffolk, entered eternal rest peacefully on February 16, 2022, at her residence. Born on November 9, 1949, She was a native of Hobson (Suffolk) and the daughter of the late Clarence Crocker Sr. and Mae Anna Hill Crocker. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Peggy Crocker Johnson, and Mary Ellen Crocker. She attended the John F Kennedy High School and graduated in 1969. She retired from Northrop Grumman Newport News, where she worked from May 1977 to July 2003.She was a faithful member of Healing Waters Worship Center in Carrollton, VA, where she worshipped and served the Lord with joy and gladness. She leaves to cherish her memory one brother Clarence Crocker Jr. and one sister Vanessa Crocker of Suffolk; three aunts Mary Lee Hall and Manie Clifton of Suffolk, and Estelle Thomas Scott of Chesapeake, VA; sister-in-law Dorothy Mitchell Crocker of Suffolk, brother-in-law Bishop James J. Johnson; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She loved going to the senior citizen center on Mondays and Wednesdays. She was a kind and loving person who never complained about being sick. In her last months of her failing health, she was cared for by Sentara Hospice House. A celebration of her life will be held at 11AM on Tuesday February 22, 2022, at Healing Waters Worship Center, located at 12172 Smith’s Neck Road, Carrollton VA, 23314. There will be a viewing held on Monday February 21, 2022, from 4PM – 6PM at Shivers Funeral Chapel in Smithfield. Please keep the Crocker family in your thoughts and prayers. View Memorial Video
