On June 10, 2023, our beloved father, brother, uncle, cousin and friend, Ervin Fredrick Crawley, known as “Nick or Big Nick” departed this life at Southside Regional Medical Center in Petersburg, VA.

Ervin was born December 7, 1959 to the late William and Gladys Fulgham Ford. He received Christ at an early age and was an active member of Christian Home Baptist Church.

He received his education in Isle of wight County Schools. Ervin was a 1979 graduate of Smithfield High School. He was employed at Smithfield Packing Company (Bacon Room) until his health declined...

Ervin loved sports. He could be found at any sporting event cheering on his favorite teams such as the Smithfield Packers, Chuckatuck Trotters and Washington Commanders (Redskins). He loved his family and friends, many of whom he carried along with him having a van load going to games.

He was preceded in death by his parents William and Gladys Ford, a brother Michael Ford and sisters Brenda Willis and Cynthia Brown.

Ervin leaves to cherish his memories, a son Kahvorkian Walton (Angel) a granddaughter, Peyton Walton, four sisters; Mary Thomas, Marcia Ford, Arnetta Wynn all of Smithfield, VA and Evelyn Green of Baltimore, MD; two brothers; Steve Crawley (Barbara)of Smithfield, VA, and   Curtis Fulgham (Gwendolyn) of Shreveport, LA; one aunt Josie Davis of Smithfield, VA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

 A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11am on Friday, June 16, 2023 at Christian Home Baptist Church. Viewing will take place on Thursday, June 15, 2023 from 3-6pm at the chapel.  Please keep the Crawley family in your prayers.
