Ernestine Turner

Windsor: Ernestine Turner entered eternal rest on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at her home. She was born April 01, 1934 to the late Norman and Magalene Goodwin. She was preceded in death by her husband Stanley Turner, son Daryl Turner, sister Alma White and her brother Edwin Goodwin Sr. Ernestine was a faithful member of Shiloh Baptist Church where she served as chairman of the Deaconess Board and a Sunday school teacher. She was also a member of the Sunday School Union. She graduated from the public school system of Isle of Wight County. She furthered her education at the Medical College of Virginia and Case Western Reserve University where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. She also received a Master of Science degree from the University of Maryland and a Master of Christian Education degree from Virginia University of Lynchburg, Va. She retired from the Veteran Administration as a Chief Nurse of Extended Care after 34 years of service. She leaves to cherish her memory three sisters, Rose Wilson, Barbara Wynn and Marjorie Martin(Larry); three brothers Richard Williams(Bernice), Joseph Collins Robinson(Lucy), and Bishop Marshall Goodwin(Barbara) and a host nieces, nephews and friends. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 12pm Friday, January 22, 2016 at Shiloh Baptist Church. Family visitation will "only" be held on Thursday, January 21, 2016 from 4-7pm at the funeral chapel. The family will assemble 11am Friday at 17071 N. Carolina Ave. for the procession to the church.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 12pm Friday, January 22, 2016 at Shiloh Baptist Church. Family visitation will "only" be held on Thursday, January 21, 2016 from 4-7pm at the funeral chapel. The family will assemble 11am Friday at 17071 N. Carolina Ave. for the procession to the church.
