Eric S. Warren Sr.

September 1, 1954 — October 24, 2015

On Saturday, October 24, 2015, surrounded by his loving family and friends, Eric "Sam" Sylvester Warren Sr., entered into eternal rest. He was a native of Isle of Wight County and the son of the late George Sr. and Carrie Diggs Warren. He was preceded in death by four brothers and seven sisters. He attended Isle of Wight County Public Schools and in 1974 he was drafted into the United States Army. After his honorable discharge in 1977, Sam spent his life working in various trades most of his time being in construction. Sam had a love for the Washington Redskins, drawing, and working on automobiles. He leaves to cherish his memory, two daughters, Chiquita Walker (Allen) of Smithfield, VA and Crystal Spratley of Newport News, VA; two sons, Dexter Drew and Eric Warren Jr. of Smithfield, VA; eight grandchildren, Aja, Amiya, Jalen, Zier, Zhaniya, De'shawn, Shawn, and Tristen; three sisters, Ellen Tynes, Lydia Palmer, and Lillie Day; one brother Marvin Warren (Sarah); one uncle Charlie Spratley (Darlene), two dedicated brothers/friends Dana Burrell and Wesley Davis, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A graveside service will be at 1:00pm, Thursday October 29that Albert G. Horton Jr. Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk Virginia.Viewing on Wednesday from 4:00pm-7:00pm at the Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate monetary donations.
