On Monday, January 28, 2019 at 11:30p.m., God carried our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend home with Him, thus completing Ellen's life purpose to be fruitful.
Ellen Estelle Warren was born on May 27, 1938 to the late George and Carrie Diggs Warren. She attended Westside Training School and after 30 plus years employed with the Gwaltney Meat Packing Plant she was medically retired to enjoy her next life step that God had planned for her. In 1994, Ellen married the love of her life, James Tynes.
Ellen was a Godly woman and a devoted member of Little Zion Baptist Church. She dutifully and faithfully was an Usher Board and Missionary member until her health declined. In her past time she enjoyed making homemade rolls as well as enjoying seeing others enjoy her rolls. She also enjoyed going to yard sales with her friend Shirley, until her passing.
Ellen was preceded in death by her loving parents George and Carrie Warren, Sr.; her husband , James Tynes; five brothers , Bobby R., George, Eric, Edwin and Louis Warren; six sisters, Jeanette White, Celestine Bailey, Mildred Newby, Violet Williams, Eunice Holmes and Carrie L. Bailey; and one grandson, Louis A. Batten (Lil' Tony). Although there were many others that have gone on before her; they are gone but not forgotten.
She also leaves to cherish her memories and carry on her legacy; two sons, Anthony A. Warren (Cheryl), Victor R. Warren (Sandy); five daughters, Gayla L. Warren, Renita M. Maiten (Earl), Janet Y. Warren, Tracey Y. Warren and Sandra L. Warren; 21 Grandchildren, 28 Great-Grandchildren; three siblings Marvin Warren, Lydia Palmer and Lillie Day; one aunt, Darlene Spratley; four adopted children, Jacqueline Warren, Keisha Hardy, Natalie Roberts and Lavoris White; four sister-in-laws , Eva Warren, Martha Warren, Sarah Warren and Laverne Tynes and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Mrs. Ellen Warren Tynes, you will be truly missed A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11am Saturday February 2, 2019 at Little Zion Baptist Church Smithfield, VA. Viewing will take place Friday February 1, 2019 from 4-7pm at the chapel. Professional services entrusted to Shivers Funeral Chapel.Burial Date February 2, 2019
