Elizabeth King Felts

Elizabeth (Lizzy) Felts, 82, of Manhattan New York transitioned from this life to gain her heavenly reward on Monday, October 2, 2017 at the home of her son and daughter-in-law in Smithfield, VA. She was the ninth of ten children born to the late Vandy Stringfield and Cassie King. She was preceded in death by her husband Ernest Felts. She was employed at Rockland State Hospital for thirty plus years. Lizzy as we so fondly called her was an individual who loved and enjoyed life. But above that she loved her family. She was a member of the Fordham Gospel Mission Church in Manhattan New York, where her pastor was the Rev. Tinnie James. She served on the missionary board. She leaves to cherish her memories one son Chester Lee Felts Sr. (Barbara) of Smithfield, VA, two grandchildren Chester Lee Felts Jr. (Kieva) of Nanuet, NY, Sharlyne Denise Felts of Smithfield, VA, four great-grandchildren, one sister Perean Urquahart of Wakefield, VA, two sister-in-laws Nellie King of Smithfield, VA and Lillie Mae King of Nyack, NY and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A celebration of life will be held 12pm Saturday October 7, 2017 at Oak Grove Baptist Church Wakefield, Va. Viewing will be held Friday October 6, 2017 from 4-7pm at the chapel. Interment will be in the Booker T. Memorial Park cemetery, Wakefield, Va. Professional services are entrusted to Shivers Funeral Chapel.
