Edward L. Hill

November 29, 1920 — April 7, 2015

Edward Lee Hill, age 94, of Smithfield, Va., died peacefully at his home on Tuesday April 7, 2015 following a long illness. He went peacefully with family by his side. Edward is the son of the late Robert and Maggie Hill and was raised in Nansemond County, Va. He worked many years for a private contractor and as an independent businessman before retiring. Edward spent his remaining years taking care of his home, enjoying his garden, building and mentoring with his many years of knowledge and experience. Edward is survived by his wife, Bertha Hill of Suffolk, Va. Two daughters, Ivor Bynum of Smithfield, Va. and Agnes Kearney of North Carolina. Eleven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, ten great great children, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and loving friends. Mr. Hill may be viewed from 4pm to7pm on Friday April 10, 2015 at Shivers Funeral Chapel, Smithfield, Va. Funeral services will be held at Mt. Lebanon Church of God, 1732 Mt. Lebanon Ave., Suffolk Va. on April 11, 2015 at 12:00 pm.

Burial Date April 11, 2015

Mr. Hill may be viewed from 4pm to 7 pm on Friday April 10, 2015 at Shivers Funeral Chapel, Smithfield, Va.
