Dories Allmond

Peacefully and quietly our dear mother and grandmother, Dories Elizabeth Allmond entered into eternal rest on June 16, 2020 at her home. She was the daughter of the late Malachi and Irena Goodman Hargrave.

Doris retired from Planters Peanuts in 1987 after 30 years of service. She was a faithful member of Friendship Church of God In Christ until her health started to decline. Doris was always loving and helpful to everyone she encountered. She had a grateful heart and a beautiful spirit.

Doris was predeceased by her husband, Lilton Allmond; a grandson, Gregory Demond Atkins; a stepdaughter, Delphine Taylor; and a stepson, Walter Hollimon.

She leaves to cherish her memory one daughter, Marilyn Blount (William); two grandchildren, Michelle and Melody; six great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 12pm Tuesday June 23, 2020 at Shivers Funeral Chapel. Viewing will take place Monday June 22, 2020 from 4-6pm also at the Chapel. Mrs. Allmond is in the loving and professional care of Shivers Funeral Chapel. Please keep the Allmond family in your prayers.
