Dontae R. Joyner

Dontae R. Joyner entered into eternal life on August 10, 2022 in Windsor, VA. He was born April 13, 1978 to Theodore and Roberta Eley Joyner at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. He began his education in Baltimore, Maryland and completed his education in the Isle of Wight County, VA Public Schools. He was employed at Birdsong Peanut Company as a fork lift operator. He was always smiling and loved working on cars. Dontae was preceded in death by his grandparents the late James C. and Helen Davis Eley, the late Gladys Key Williams and the late Moses Thomas Joyner Sr. and his uncles Thomas Joyner and Frederick Joyner. His beautiful life will be forever cherished in the lives of his parents Theodore Sr. and Roberta Eley Joyner; his two sons Taewon and Deontae Joyner; one brother Theodore R. Joyner, Jr.; two sisters Letita Watson (Roger) and Tedra Joyner; eleven uncles Clarence Eley (Chris), Raymond Eley (JoAnne), Elgin Eley (LaVerne), Melvin Eley, Rowland Eley (Lisa), Tyronne Eley, Vernon Eley, Charles Eley (Paulette), Moses T. Joyner Jr.(Ann Marie), Floyd Joyner, and Reginald Joyner; eight aunts Barbara Eley, Alice Hunt (Ricky), Lois J. Purdie, Patricia J. Wilson (Alton), Deildra Joyner, Sylvia J. James, Patricia Washington (Maggie) and Lisa R. Joyner; five nephews Roger Watson III, Jemelle Hill Jr., Johnny Watson, Kylee Joyner and Ramir Brodie; a special friend April Chapman and a host of cousins and friends. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 1:00pm on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at Emmanuel Baptist Church, Smithfield. Viewing will take place on Friday, August 19, 2022 from 3-6pm at the chapel.
