Donald Lorenzo Clarke was born on March 8, 1959 in Newport News, Virginia. He was preceded in death by his parents, the Late Lenard and Catherine Gilchrist Clarke. Donald leaves to mourn his memory his twin brother, Ronald L. Clarke of Smithfield, Virginia, a daughter, Regina Wilson and affectionate grandchildren, Myyonna Wilson and Jeremiah Wilson Gee of Kenbridge, Virginia, a god sister, Dr. MeChelle S. Blunt (Larry) of Courtland, Virginia; two aunts, Cleopatra C. Savedge of Courtland, Virginia and Alpha Dorsey of Morristown, New Jersey; one uncle Royad Gilchrist (Al) of Surry, and a host of family and friends. Donald, was a proud United States Marine and served several tours overseas during his enlistment. He took great pride in his assigned duties and was meticulous in completing tasks with excellence. He earned the rank of Corporal and was honorably discarded from the Marine Corps. After his discard in 1982, Donald worked with the town of Kenbridge, Virginia and at McGuire Hospital in Richmond, Virginia. Donald (DC) was very generous, jovial and a selfless person. He loved his family and enjoyed entertaining them and friends. He enjoyed westerns, fishing, cooking out, old school music, collecting trinkets and was an avid Pittsburg Steelers Fan. He will be remembered for his neat attire, immaculate cleaning, ability to talk and talk and talk, mastery of debate, and disagree to agree spirit. Donald’s memory will linger in the hearts of those he touched. A Drive-Up Celebration of Life Service will be held 11am on Monday, October 11, 2021 at the Chapel. There will be no public viewing. Please keep the Clarke family in your thoughts and prayers.
