Desmond N. Smith

Desmond Nicholas Smith transitioned on to be with the Lord on Wednesday November 13, 2019 at the tender age of 21. He began life on March 15, 1998 in Suffolk Va. born to Keisha Smith and Shannon Eley. Desmond received some of his formal education in Smithfield Public School System from 2013-2015, he entered into the Youth For Tomorrow Program located in Woodbridge Va. from 2015-2016 where he graduated with highest honors in his class, that's where he pursued his passion for music.He received his high school degree from Isle Wight Academy graduating year of 2017. Upon graduating he became employed with Liebherr on 9-29-2017.On his job Desmond was well loved and known as a hard and dedicated worker by his employer. Desmond know to his family as Blu , always displayed an infectious smile .As a child growing up he loved doing home improvements with his father and siblings, he enjoyed playing sports with Pop Warner ,and video games as his past time. In his early teenage years he gain a passion for making beats and songs. In 2014 Desmond and friend Kyon founded the music group known as 2400 Productions , which they achieved as an success with an abundance of songs with musical colleagues. As an adult through his dedication and talents with music he became an success by accomplishing his dreams. Desmond is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Chauncey J. Lofton,Paternal Grandmother Evenlyn Eley , and Paternal Grandfather Douglas Pickett, and Maternal Great Grandparents Charles Nickolas Smith and Irene Taylor Smith. He is survived by his parents mother Keisha Smith and father Shannon Eley(Trina). Siblings Shanecia Eley, Shaniqua Eley, Tanijah Smith, Quelisha Watkins and Nira Butler, brothers Trenton Abernathy and Demond Smith. He also leaves to cherish his memories to maternal grandmother Ms Mary Smith affectionately know as "GaGa". Also nieces Harmoni Eley , Honesty Eley, Aubrielle Lawerence and nephews Gabriel Lawerence , Kingston Harris, Ty'len Eley. With an abundance of family, friends and musical colleagues. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 12pm Saturday November 23, 2019 at Lebanon Baptist Church Surry, Va. Viewing will take place Friday November 22, 2019 from 4-7pm at Shivers Funeral Chapel. Professional Services entrusted to Shivers Funeral Chapel.
