Delvin Tyrice Clarke Boone Gatlingof Arnold, Maryland, was born in Isle of Wight County, Virginia on May 27, 1949. Delvin a.k.a "Mickey" was thesecond born to the late Jeremiah Clarke, Sr., and Clarice Greene Clarke.She was the granddaughter of the late Walter (Buck) and Emily Ellis Clarke, and the late William Eley and Arnetta Bailey Greene. She attended the Brown and Dodge Elementary School in Courtland, Virginia, the Nansemond County Training School and the Southwestern High School, in Suffolk, Virginia. Delvin Tyrice Clarke married John Gilbert Boone making a home in the Suffolk rural area until his demise. To this union was born two children; Lesia C. Boone-Johnson of Suffolk, VA and Keith S. Boone (Lafayetta) of Bowie, MD, one step-daughter La'Tonya A. Steward of Suffolk, VA. Grandchildren: Jamica L. Johnson (John Ford IIIfianc), Kendall N. Boone, J'On Russell and Melvin Brown. Great-Grandchildren: John Ford IV, Jackson Ford and Jinx. Delvin Tyrice Boone remarried to Anthony R. Gatling of Washington, DC until his demise. She was a committed daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Became a member of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church of Ivor, VA at a young age and after marriage later moved her membership to Stoney Branch Baptist of Gates, NC. She attended Paul D. Camp Community College, Franklin, VA & Prince George's Community College, Largo, MD. She worked for Capitol One Credit Bureau as a Customer Service Credit Card Representative. She loved to read and discuss the BIBLE. Hobbies consisted ofplaying games,TALKING, sewing, cooking,nurturing and caring for others and loving children. She served as an Ambassador at the FutureCare Chesapeake facility welcoming new patients and inviting them to attend Bible Study, Church and various activities at the Center. She had a great love for the FutureCare nurses that cared for her and personally bonded. Her favorite sayings were: "the good out way the bad," "WALMARTS" and "Ont Awn, me," and lastly "I DID,"while hitting your arm and starring at you. Mom answered the call to eternal life early Sunday morning, March 21, 2021, at 1:28 a.m. at the Anne Arundel Medical Center, Annapolis, MD. She will join those gone on before;husbandsJohn G. Boone (JG) and Anthony R. Gatling (Chub); parents Jeremiah Clarke, Sr., and Clarice Greene Clarke; her sisters Melvin C. Goodman (Puddin) and Zelma M. Harris (Mess); and brother Jeremiah Clarke, Jr. (Jerry Boy). Mom leaves to cherish her memories to the yet living, her mother-in-law Bertha M. Saunders of Gates, NC & Mary Coleman of Forestville, MD, three brother in-laws Jimmie L. Goodman (Mary) of Suffolk, VA, Robert "Bobby" Boone (Diane) and David Saunders of Gates, NC,and five sister-in-law's, Mary L. Booneof Suffolk, VA, Yvonne Boone of Franklin, VA, Mary H. Boone of Sunbury, NC,and Joan Clarke of Severna Park, MD; an aunt Cleopatra Savedge of Courtland, VA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends to include a very special friend Mr. Doug Eley of Arnold, MD. She is survived byher children, grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, aunt, other relatives and friends. A Drive-Up Celebration of Life Service will be held 1pm Saturday, March 27, 2021 at Shivers Funeral Chapel, 12749 Courthouse Highway, Smithfield, VA 23430. Viewing will take place from 4-6 pm Friday, March 26, 2021 at Shivers Funeral Chapel. Mrs. Gatling is in the loving and professional care of Shivers Funeral Chapel. Viewing will take place from 4-6 pm Friday, March 26, 2021 at Shivers Funeral Chapel. Mrs. Gatling is in the loving and professional care of Shivers Funeral Chapel.
