Deborah Joyner Reid

One the evening of Saturday, August 6, 2016, Deborah Joyner Reid went home to be with the Lord. She was born to Junious and Frances Joyner on June 10, 1940. She was married to the late Emmett B. Reid.

She is predeceased by brother Julius H. Joyner and sister Blynder Grant. She leaves to cherish her memory two sons; Emmit A. Reid (Angela) and Darien Reid (Jesse Matthews), four daughters; Pamela Warren, Lora Walton (Eddie), Willette Liggins (Calvin), and Dean Smith (Johnathan), three brothers; Junious Joyner (Katherine), Ira Joyner, Michael Randall (Karen), two sisters; Dale Jordan and Melissa Palmer (William). She also leaves two foster sons; James Strafford and Robert Brush, special friends; James Williams, Ronnie Ricks, Gregory Majette, Orin Jackson, Adam and Mark, fourteen grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A Celebration of Life service will be held 1pm on Friday, August 12, 2016 at Shivers Funeral Chapel, Smithfield, Va. Viewing will be held on Thursday, August 11, 2016 from 4pm - 7pm at the Chapel. Interment will be in the Morning Star Baptist Church cemetery, Windsor, Va. Professional services entrusted to Shivers Funeral Chapel.

Burial Date August 12, 2016
