Darrell A. Chapman

Darrell Adrian Chapman, 47 a native of Isle of Wight County transitioned to his heavenly home on Wednesday December 23, 2020 surrounded by his loving family. Darrell was born on January18, 1973 to Viola K. Chapman and the late Bert L. Chapman. At an early age Darrell learned to play the piano/organ from his grandmother, the late Miziner Roberts. He was educated in the Isle of Wight Public School System. Darrell was employed at Smithfield Packing before fulfilling his lifelong dream of becoming a barber;following in his fater's footsteps, later owning his own business Xclusive Stylz Barber Shop. Darrell was a member of Sandy Mount Baptist Church, Smithfield, VA where he served as organist of the church choirs and also BC Heritage Choir. He was also a member of the Brotherhood Ministry. Darrell enjoyed fishing and mostly riding his motorcycle as a member of the "Pacesetters" Motorcycle Club. Darrell was proceeded in death by his father, Bert L. Chapman. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving mother Katherine Chapman, three daughters; TaKeya Chapman, Darielle Chapman and Quiera Wright, one son; Elvis Armstead, one brother Kenneth Chapman(Jenine), and two sisters; Dr. Andria Chapman-Taliaferro (Carlos)and Michelle Chapman Bridges (Al); a devoted friend Ashley Armstead, a beloved pet Chico, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends who will miss him dearly. A Graveside Celebration will be held 12pm Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at Emmanuel Baptist Church Cemetery. Viewing will take place Monday, December 28, 2020 at Shivers Funeral Chapel from 4-6pm.
