The Life of Darlene Faye Anderson

Darlene Faye Anderson, 63, transitioned from this life on Thursday, July 9, 2026, in Hampton, Virginia. She was born on July 27, 1962, to the late Mattie Anderson and Orvell Anderson, Sr.

Darlene was the youngest of twelve siblings, four girls and eight boys. She was known as “Kook” to her siblings.

Darlene attended Hampton City Schools. She was a woman of love with a big heart. She loved the Lord. She was a worshipper for Christ. She enjoyed singing and practicing on her guitars.

Darlene was a woman of great faith who loved going to her church, Perfecting Saints Ministries, under the leadership of Apostle James Wright. She loved beating her tambourine. She sung in multiple choirs and traveled throughout Hampton Roads performing.

Darlene was loved by everyone she met, especially by her best friends Tiffany and Arneatha, also by Ms. Charlotte, Versability, Wilson Home Health, Blunts Transportation, and a host of others.

Darlene was preceded in death by her siblings Orvell Anderson, Jr., Clarence Anderson, Romie Anderson, Jerome Anderson, Samuel Anderson, and Carolyn Thomas.

She leaves to cherish her memory siblings Michael Anderson, Oliver Anderson, Charles Anderson, Donna Cooper and Sandra Anderson and a host of nieces and nephews, relatives, and friends.

The Lord blessed Darlene with a beautiful and prosperous life. 

Viewing will take place from 2-5pm at Shivers Funeral Chapel. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 1:00pm Monday, July 20, 2026 at the chapel. Interment will follow in the Mt. Sinai Church Cemetery. Please keep the Anderson family in your prayer.
