On Saturday, September 6, 2025, Curtis Delk received his call from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ—and he answered without hesitation.
Affectionately known as “Doc” or “Boy Genius” by family and friends, Curtis was a loving son, devoted father, proud grandfather, brother, and loyal friend. He was educated in the Isle of Wight School System and went on to have an extensive career as a pipefitter, working with companies such as Fluor Daniels, MHI, and BAE Systems.
Curtis had a big heart, especially when it came to children. He shared a unique and special bond with his nieces and nephews—particularly his nephews. But above all, the sun rose and set with his son, Donte, who was truly the light of his life.
Curtis was known for making everyone feel seen and special when he spoke with them. Flashy, smooth, and charming, he was undeniably a ladies’ man with a radiant smile that could light up any room. A man of deep faith, he encouraged others to “read the Word for yourself,” and “Trust the Most High”, reflecting his personal relationship with God. He was unapologetically a mama’s boy—the Prince to her being the Queen.
Curtis was preceded in death by his siblings, Valerie D. Judkins, Laura A. Pierce-Ruffin, and Linwood N. Delk, as well as his father, Floyd Pierce.
He leaves to cherish his memory:
