Remembering Consyvilla
In the early, quiet hours of July' 12, 2025, God's Angels quietly gathered at the home of Consyvilla and escorted her to his eternal resting place, she was surrounded by her devoted daughters.
Consyvilla Parker Payne was the cherished daughter of the late Harry Clay Parker, Sr. and Canda Pearleen Parker. Affectionately called "Tissy” or “Baby Sis", she was born on January 15, 1938, in Gates North Carolina. She attended the Nansemond County Training School in what is now Suffolk, Virginia. She worked at Louise Obici Memorial Hospital for twenty-five years before retiring, After retirement, she enjoyed working as Companion Aid, providing care and support to others.
Faith played a central role Consyvilla's life. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and attended Stoney Branch Baptist Church in Gates, North Carolina, She was Charter Disciple of Solomon's Temple Church in Smithfield, Virginia, where she served on the Hospitality, Outreach, and Women’s Ministries until her health declined. She eventually became one of the Church Mothers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arcelious Payne; her daughter, Ann Payne; and eight of her siblings, Bernard Parker, Shirley White, Pernlpa Cross, Rodger Parker, Jerry Parker, Sr., Jearleen Warren, Nora Boone, and Harry Clay Parker, Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Juanita Payne and Patricia Payne of Suffolk, Virginia; a son, Robert Payne (Jean) of Midlothian, Virginia; her grandchildren, Christopher Payne, Sr., Whitney Turner (Tevin) Sheniqua Everett (Dion) Brandon Wiggins, Young, Sr., Michael Young, Sr, (Lisa) and Chauncey Brown; her great-grandchildren, Cimayiah Payne, Da'Niya Butts, Christopher Payne, Jr., Xavier Everett, Destinee Everett, Aaliyah Bagley, Michael Young, Jr., and Malia Tuell. She is also survived by her sisters, Faye Knight and Barbara Gatling (James) her brothers, Fredderick Payne, Jr., (Arlene), Ronald Parker (Loretta) and Dennis Parker (Felicia); one sister-in-law, Margaret Parker, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She will be dearly missed.
Consyvilla lived a life deeply rooted in faith, unwavering strength, and boundless devotion. Embracing both joy and hardship with grace, she touched many lives with her kindness and steadfast spirit. She found great joy in cooking, sewing, fishing, gardening, crafting, and gathering with family and friends. She loved to travel and was always eager to go on the next vacation. Her dedication to het- beliefs and to those she loved vas evident every step of her journey. Through her resilience and trust in God's plan, she was a source of comfort md inspiration to all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of faith, family and love that continues to shine brightly in the hearts she enriched. May she rest in eternal peace, wrapped in the everlasting love of the Lord.

On Thursday, July 17, 2025 viewing will take place from 3-6pm at Shivers Funeral Chapel. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11am on Friday, July 18, 2025 at Solomon's Temple Church,150888 Mount Holly Creek Drive, Smithfield, VA 23430. Interment will follow the service in the Carver Memorial Cemetery, 2320 East Washington Street, Suffolk, VA 23434. Please keep the Payne family in your prayers.
