Clifton F. Edwards

Clifton Fairfield Edwards departed his life on Friday, September 14, 2018, in Riverside Hospital; Newport News, VA.Clifton was a native of Isle of Wight County and resided in Windsor, VA. Clifton was the 9^th child of ten born to the late Clifton and Minnie Edwards on May 20, 1940. Clifton educated in the Isle of Wight Training School System. He joined Sandy Mount Baptist Church at an early age. He attended Sunday School and sung in the church choir. He loved to sing; he and his two sisters, Selone and Lillie Mae organized a singing group where they sung together for many years. Clifton leaves to cherish his memories, six children: Felicia Layne, Clifflette Edwards, Patricia Johnson (Corey), Mildred Wilson (Al), Clinton Edwards (Donna) and Jason Lewis. A dear niece Angela Waters; who cared for him until his passing, two sisters Lillie Mae Hill (Curtis), who he lived with and cared for until passing, Selone Evans (Julius) of Newport News and one brother-in-law, Leon Parker. Eleven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, family and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held 12PM Friday September 21, 2018 at Sandy Mount Baptist Church. Viewing will take place Thursday September 20, 2018 from 4-7PM at the chapel. Professional services are entrusted to Shivers Funeral Chapel Smithfield, VA.
