Cherie N. Wiggins

Cherie Nichole Wiggins of 2507 Walnut Stret, Portsmouth, VA departed this life at Bon Secours Maryview Hospital on February 12, 2023.

She was a native of Washington, DC and relocated to this area in 1987. She was born August 18, 1971 to Mrs. Evelyn Boykins Holmes and Mr. Theophilus Barnett. On December 21, 2014 she married the love of her life Michael Wiggins.

She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved husband Michael (Mike) Wiggins, mother Evelyn Holmes, brother Theophilus Barnett (Tonorio), beloved nephew, Theo; niece, Ziahamela, uncles; John Boykins, Lewis Boykins (Lizzie), Melvin Lankford and Eddie Tate; aunties; Jenny Boykins, Loretta Lankford and Phyllis Stokes and a host of cousins and friends. She was a dedicated president of the immediate ushers of Cedar Grove Baptist Church for many years, member of the choir, hospitality committee and audio ministry. Nikki’s favorite songs were “O Happy Day” and “Going up Yonder”

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11am Friday, February 17, 2023 at Cedar Grove Baptist Church 17023 Black Creek Rd. Zuni, VA 23898. Viewing will take place Thursday, February16, 2023 from 3-6pm at Shivers Funeral Chapel.
