Charles E. Boyce, 64, passed away on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at Sentara Obici Hospital in Suffolk, VA. He was born October 9, 1950 to the late James E. Boyce and Ruth Boyce Clayton. God our creator determines our status in life and he designs the path we must travel. Charles had several challenges in life but possessed the will and courage to make the best of his situation. His love and concern for us was always evident. He was predeceased by his sisters, Francine Boyce, Rube Clemons and Ellen Claggett. Charles is survived by his sisters, Drucilla Goodman (Charlie) of Carrollton, Cherry James (Vince) of Williamsburg, Bernadette Boone (Randy) of Suffolk and Darnelle Jefferson (Wayne) of Smithfield; brothers, Frederick Boyce of Suffolk , Jerry Boyce (Jennifer) of Smithfield and, Rufus Boyce (Yvonne) of Newport News ; his aunts, Thelma Mohamond of Smithfield, Annie Cotton of Portsmouth,; uncles Plummer Jarrett (Mildred) of Wakefield, William Jarrett of Smithfield, Otis Jarrett of Williamsburg; a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. A celebration of Life Service will be 12p.m. Saturday, February 14, 2015 at Shivers Funeral Chapel. Viewing will be held from 4-7pm on Friday, February 13, 2015 at the Chapel.
