From earth to glory, finally at rest, rescued by the love and peace of God Almighty, our dear mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister-in-law, mother-in-law, aunt, neighbor and friend, Beatrice Hines Robertson, quietly slept away into the loving arms of Christ on Sunday night, September 1, 2019. Beatrice was born on November 23, 1931 and raised in Isle of Wight County, Virginia by her parents Nathan and Annie Turner Hines in a Christian household. She attended and graduated from Isle of Wight County Training School. She was affectionately known throughout the Central Hill community as "Ms. Bea" or "Ma Bea" and among family and friends as "Nana", "Mama", "Ma" and "Bumblebee". Beatrice was employed by Smithfield Packing Company for over 40 years and retired in 1995. After retirement, she became the caregiver for her mother until her passing. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading the bible, completing word searches, watching inspirational shows and talking on the phone with special prayer partners and friends. Beatrice was a lifelong member of Shiloh Baptist Church and there was no doubt of her love for her church and church family. She spoke highly of her church, served in various capacities and was a committed servant to the ministries at Shiloh and especially to the Lord's work. In recent months, she pressed her way to Sunday School and Sunday morning worship. Beatrice shared with her family that "she was tired of running" and accepted the call to ministry in December 1993. Beatrice loved to study the bible, and proudly attended Virginia Seminary in 1998 and graduated in 1999. In addition to her parents, Beatrice was predeceased by her siblings, Mary Spratley Jones and Nathan E. Hines, Jr., sons, Alphonso Cutler and Earl Richard Cutler. She leaves to cherish her memory five loving children, Barbara Ann Hines Johnson (Wrencis, Sr.), Marva Lee Hines Parker, Edward Bernard Hines (Margo), Alvin Cutler (Helen) and Phillissia Robertson Clinton (Percell); nine grandchildren, Natasha P. Richardson (Wardell), Wrencis L. Johnson, Jr. (Spring), Patrice Catlett, Therbia U. Parker, Jr., V. Tanaia D. Hines, Maria Cutler, Alvin Cutler, Jr., Gary L. Johnson and Edward Xavier Hines; eleven great grandchildren, sister-in-law, Mary A. Hines, son-in-law, Therbia U. Parker, Sr. and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
