Barbara Ann Morton

Miss Barbara Ann Morton was born in Surry County Virginia, where she attended public school. She later took permanent residence in Washington D.C, where she lived the remainder of her life. She was a very private person, who loved to work on word seeking puzzles. She entered her final rest on this side at Adventist White Oak Medical Center in Silver Spring, Maryland on September 11, 2019. On December 21, 1941, she was the first-born child to the late Richard Moton Sr and Rosa Moton. Barbara leaves behind one son Elton Moton (Teresa) of Newport News, Virginia, one daughter Lisa Morton Gyamfi Richmond Virginia. Five surv iving sisters Virginia Moton Smithfield, Virginia, Beverly Moton Mt. Vernon, New York, Estelle Simmon Washington D.C, Olivia Barnes (William) Richmond, Virginia, Yolanda Ramlogan Clinton Maryland. Three surviving brothers Richard Morton Jr (Viola) Dendron, Virginia, Philip Morton (Lavonne) Surry, Virginia, James Moton of Peterburg, Virginia. Her only surviving Aunt Lucy McDaniels of Dendron, Virginia. Four surviving grandchildren, Quinton Morton, Keisha Moton, Corey Moton and Chantel Moton . One great grandaughter Maliyah Queen Morton and a host of nephews, nieces and cousins. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 12 PM Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at Shivers Funeral Chapel. Viewing will take place Monday, September 16, 2019 from 4-7 PM at the Chapel. Professional services entrusted to Shivers Funeral Chapel.
