Audrey Ann Williams

On Thursday December 10, 2020, Audrey Ann Williams, 72, of 21363 Orbit Road, Windsor, Virginia transitioned home to be with her heavenly Father at the Sentara Williamsburg Regional Hospital. Audrey, was born in Southampton County to the late James and Virginia Hill Williams Sr. on June 27, 1948. She accepted Christ as her savior at an early age and attended the Union Hill Church. In her later years, she joined the Holly Grove AME Church, Windsor where she spent the rest of her years in worship. Although Audrey never birthed any children biologically, she certainly always served in the capacity of babysitter for her sisters and brothers due to her love for children. All of her nieces and nephews loved her greatly. They laughed, joked and had lots of fun with her down through the years. When she got serious, she would tell you like it was without biting her tongue. Audrey never met a stranger and got along with everyone in the neighborhood. She was an amazing, wonderful, great and loving caregiver for her family until her death. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her four sisters, Gracie Ruffin, Rebecca Harris, Rosetta Williams, Edna Myers, and one brother James Williams Jr. She leaves to cherish her precious memory one brother, Arthur Lee Williams, one sister-in-law Geraldine Williams, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who loved her. A Graveside Celebration will be held 1pm Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at Holly Grove A.M.E. Church Cemetery. Viewing will take place Monday, December 14, 2020 from 4-6pm at Shivers Funeral Chapel.
