The Life of Audrey Lyttle Ward
On Friday, December 12, 2025, Audrey Ann Lyttle Blowe Ward gained her heavenly wings and peacefully went home to be with the Lord.
She was born on August 7, 1935, to the late James and Sallie Jamison Lyttle. She joined Mt. Nebo Baptist Church at an early age.
Along her journey, she began a nursing career and retired as Ward Secretary at Obici Hospital Women Center and as well as Isle of Wight County Bus Drivers.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Wilma P. Blowe, her stepfather John “Bud” Twine and her sister Carrie Winnegan.
She leaves behind her husband Vernon Ward, Sr.; a stepson Vernon Ward, Jr.; a step grandson; a brother James Lyttle, Jr.; sister Rosa M. White (Elder Richard White); adopted sister Arkema T. Hill (Eldridge Hill); sisters-in-law Shirley Lyons, Deborah Ward, Delores Cuffey and Nannie Blowe and a host of nieces and nephews including a special nephew James Anthony Lyttle and great nieces and nephews.
She also leaves behind extended family members as well as special friends she’s made along the way and a very special fur baby “Peppy” that was her heart.
A Memorial Celebration of Life service will be held 11 am Tuesday, December 16, 2025 at Shivers Funeral Chapel. Please keep the Ward- Lyttle Family in your prayers.
