Arthur Drew Sr.

On Friday, July 26, 2019 God called home one of his own Arthur Drew Sr. (Tiny-man). Arthur was born on Dec. 11, 1943 to the late Joe and Gertrude Drew. He was the last of this union. Arthur was a firm believer in Christ. He excepted Christ at an early age at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church Ivor, Va. In his latter years he became a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church Smithfield, Va. until his health declined. Arthur was educated at Surry County Public Schools. After finishing school he married his teenage sweetheart the late Mary Ann Winnegan Drew before going out to the workforce for his long term occupation as a tractor trailer driver. He drove for the Gwaltney's of Smithfield, Saunders Trucking and E.M. Scott both of Windsor, Va. for over 30 years until he medically retired. Tiny-man loved spending time with his family & fishing with his buddies.

Along with his parents and his wife he was also preceded in death by his two sons Donald and Raymond Drew, one grandson Christopher Laws, two brothers Joe and Aullie Drew, three sisters Elizabeth Binns, Margaret Mcelroy and Mildred McMillian.

He leaves to cherish memory 2 sons Arthur Drew Jr. (Chonda) of Suffolk, Va, Kim Drew of Newport News, Va; 4 daughters Sandra Hatton (Clarence), Melinda Wiggins(Troy) both of Carrollton, Va., Debra Whitley(Laroy) Smithfield, Va. And Devona Jones(Rev. Eric) Waverly, VA.; one step-daughter Lekesha Moton, 1 step-son Deunco Moton, 22 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren; two brothers Willie Robert Drew (Sarah) of Phildephia, Edward Drew(Susie) of Smithfield; one sister Nellie Mae Wells of Newport News, Va.;adopted daughter Judy Moore; four special friends Richard Kelly, Bernard King, Abraham Seaborne & Glen Chapman and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A Celebration of life Service will be held 12pm Wednesday July 31, 2019 at Emmanuel Baptist Church Smithfield, Va. Viewing will take place Tuesday July 30, 2019 from 4-7pm at Shivers Funeral Chapel. Professional Services entrusted to Shivers Funeral Chapel.
