Anthony L. Eley

April 28, 1961 — September 14, 2019

Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God , believe also in me. John 14:21 Anthony was born April 28, 1960 to the late Wilbert and Corine Eley. Anthony was the last of five children born to the union. BB as he was so affectionately known, attended school in Isle of Wight County. After completing school, he worked at Smithfield Packing and Newport News Shipbuilding. Afterwards, he worked as a HVAC technician. He acquired professional skills and expertise in real estate remodeling and home renovation. Anthony was an avid fisherman during his spare time. He wouldspend all day and a portion of the night fishing. More often than not, hewould return home with a surplus of fish. He would always clean his catchand share it with his family and friends. Anthony was preceded in death by his father, Wilbert Eley and his son Christopher Bailey. He leaves to cherish his memory, his children, Anthony, Keisha, Nikki, Toni, and Raya of Baltimore, MD Vera and Luran of Hampton, VA Price of Suffolk, VA and Dumar of Wakefield, VA. His loving mother, Corine Eley of Windsor, VA; his devoted sisters, Betty Jean Johnson and Jo Ann Eley of Windsor, VA; and Georgette Eley of Suffolk, VA. His loving brothers, Larry Eley of Newport News, VA and James Babb of Baltimore, MD. A devoted fiancee, Debbie Rice of Baltimore, MD. A host of nieces,nephews, aunts, cousins, friends and an uncle. May God rest his soul and may his loving memories forever remain in the elevated hearts of his loving children and family. We pray he will rest in continuous peace with God.


Burial Date September 21, 2019

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 12:00 PM Saturday, September 21, 2019 at Shivers Funeral Chapel. Viewing will take place from 4-7 PM Friday, September 20, 2019 at Shivers Funeral Chapel. Professional Services entrusted to Shivers Funeral Chapel.
