Annie Mae Shivers affectionately known as “sister”, entered eternal rest with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday January 4, 2022. She peacefully departed from us at the Obici Hospital in Suffolk, Virginia. She spent her last hours surrounded by her loving family. Annie was born in Isle of Wight County Virginia on November 25, 1939 to the late Wylie and Mary Cotton. She was married to the late Elmo Shivers and to that union was born 5 beautiful children. Annie received her education from the Isle of Wight County Public School System. During her earlier years she was employed with the Gwaltney Packing Plant. She was also employed with the Isle of Wight County Public School System as a cafeteria worker until 1979 when she decided to become a stay-at-home grandmother to help raise her twin granddaughters. She was devoted to being a homemaker, raising her children and enjoying life with her family and friends. She was a member of the Little Zion Baptist Church where she served her Lord and Savior faithfully. There she was known for her welcoming smile and her giving heart.
