Rev. Andrew "Lujack" Johnson transitioned from this earthly life to his heavenly home on Monday, December 2, 2019. Andrew was employed at Newport News Shipbuilding from 1972-2002. He retired in 2002 after 30 years of service. Prior to working at the Shipyard, he worked at Gwaltney Packing Company. Affectionately known as Lujack among other names, Andrew was an athlete in his younger years. He had a youthful personality. He was sociable, outspoken and a people's person. Andrew studied Theology and became ordained. He taught Sunday school and Bible Study for several years at Sandy Mt. Baptist Church and Rising Star Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his first wife Lorene Williams, son Rayland Johnson, second wife Jacqueline Johnson, brother John Henry Lewis, and sister Virginia Johnson. Andrew leaves to cherish his memory his children Wendell Johnson, Brian Johnson (Elwynda), Gina Allmond (Ennis), April Fleming, Melanie Johnson, Andra Washington (Byron), and Judy Booker;stepson Damien Walker; brother James Butler, grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing" (2 Timothy 4:7-8). A Celebration of Life Service will be held 12 pm Saturday December 7, 2019 at Rising Star Baptist Church Smithfield, VA. Viewing will take place Friday December 6, 2019 from 4-7 pm at Shivers Funeral Chapel. Professional Services entrusted to Shivers Funeral Chapel.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 12pm Saturday December 7, 2019 at Rising Star Baptist Church Smithfield, VA. Viewing will take place Friday December 6, 2019 from 4-7pm at Shivers Funeral Chapel. Professional Services entrusted to Shivers Funeral Chapel.
