Alexander Crocker

March 14, 1945 — August 20, 2020

On August 20, 2020 Alex "Heavy duty" Crocker transitioned home to be with his Heavenly Father. Alexander Crocker, the son of the late Henry Crocker and Taggie Moore-Crocker, was born on March 14,1945 in Sussex county , Wakefield, VA. and was also Educated in Wakefield. His baby brother Charles often Bragg about how Alex scored 60 points in one single game playing basketball. Aside from being the best dad and husband, he dedicated most of his time to his grand babies. Their biggest argument being "Who was papa's favorite". He loved grilling out ,fishing ,hunting, watching sports (Redskins was his favorite team) , and spending time with family and friends. Alex loved serving the Lord. He was a loyal member of Little Zion Baptist Church where he loved to sing in the men's and combined choir. Alex worked at Northrop Grumman for over 43 years and retired in 2006. He leaves to cherish his memory; his beloved wife Spencer Crocker, Three sons; Ruffin, Anthony, and Brian(Teresa). Two daughters Tiwana, and Sonja. One sister; Elizabeth Crocker of VA. Two brothers Harrell Moore(Gloria), and Charles Crocker(Willie Mae), Two sisters-in-law Arleen picott(Mervin), Zelma Williams(Emmit), and a brother- in- law James Bolling(Ann). A host of Grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his two daughters Nicole and Lisa. The family of Alexander Crocker would like to extend our deepest gratitude and appreciation to say thank you for your prayers and expressions of love and sympathy will never be forgotten. To my husband, I cherished every moment that we spent together I will miss you but I know God needed you more until we meet again my love, your wife Spencer. A Graveside Celebration will be held 11am Thursday August 27, 2020 at the Baptist Memorial Cemetery Smithfield, Va. Viewing will take place Wednesday August 26, 2020 at Shivers Funeral Chapel from 4-6pm. Mr Crocker is in the loving and professional care of Shivers Funeral Chapel. A Graveside Celebration will be held 11am Thursday August 27, 2020 at the Baptist Memorial Cemetery Smithfield, Va. Viewing will take place Wednesday August 26, 2020 at Shivers Funeral Chapel from 4-6pm. Mr Crocker is in the loving and professional care of Shivers Funeral Chapel.
