Rosa Mae Delk

Rosa Mae Delk, age 55, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, November 7, 2021 at her residence in Greensboro, NC She was born on May 11, 1966 to the late Leon Griffin and Rosetta Delk. Rosa was adopted at birth and raised by the late Iven Lee Delk, Sr. and Beatrice Scott Delk. Rosa was introduced to Christ at an early age. She attended Emmanuel Baptist Church until she moved away to Greensboro, N.C. She served in the choir, usher board, and other church ministries. Rosa spent many years working as a dietitian nutritionist and also as a switchboard operator. She was a dedicated worker. She also loved spending time with family, playing spades, and taking trips with her girlfriend Claudette and family members. She was preceded in death by both parents, maternal grandparents Iven and Beatrice Delk, paternal grandparents George and Linia Griffin, and four brothers Wallace Delk, Sr., William Delk, Iven Delk, Jr., and Leroy Delk, Sr. Rosa leaves to cherish her memory her two sisters Shirley Gray of Smithfield, VA and Mary Jones (Rodney) of Smithfield, VA; two brothers Julius Delk, Sr. (Natalie) of Newport News, VA and Charles Delk (Francine) of Smithfield, VA; one sister-in-law Janice Delk of Newport News, VA; one godson George Giles, Jr. (Shawn) of Carrollton, VA and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held 12pm Sunday, November 14, 2021 at Shivers Funeral Chapel BY INVITATION ONLY. Limited attendance will be strictly adhered to and required.
