Richard Lessard

Richard Lessard, 57, of Smithfield, reunited with the Lord on January 6, 2020.

Richard was born in Franklin, NH to Robert Lessard and Theresa Lessard Lefebvre on April 6, 1962. He served and retired from the United States Army and had recently retired from the Department of Defense. He loved his wife, family, and friends very much. His laugh, love for gardening, sense of humor, and love for music was extremely contagious.

Richard is preceded in death by his father Robert Lessard and his grandparents Blanche Vallee Morin, Joseph Vallee, Peter Lessard and Aldora Lessard.

Richardis survived by his wife Nancy Lessard, children Alyne Lessard-Freeman (Elizare), Matthew Lessard, and Laureen Banasiak (Ben), brothers Ron Lessard (Sophia), Marc Lessard, mother Theresa Lessard Lefebvre, and grandchildren Johanna and Eliza Freeman.

Funeral service will be held at Good Shepherd Parish in Smithfield on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at 10 AM. Viewing Friday January 10, 2020 from 4-7pm at Shivers Funeral Chapel. Interment will be on 10am Monday January 13, 2020 at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetey in Suffolk, Virginia.
