Marcus Wendell Evans was born July 25, 1989 in Suffolk, VA to Riley and Tracy Evans of Windsor, VA and received his call home on February 22, 2020 in Suffolk, VA. He was a former student of Windsor High School Class of 08 where he played the game he loved most basketball. (Windsor Dukes) During his time at King's Fork High School (Bull Dogs) he also played basketball. Marcus played for the Suffolk Blazers AAU a team with which he had the opportunity to travel to many places for competition. Although Marcus' time on earth with us was not long , his uncanny ability to reach people in a deep positive way will always been remembered. His friends and family will forever cherish how his smile could brighten even the darkest days. His words of encouragement would often bring solace. It was evident to anyone who interfaced with Marcus at any level to see that he believed in the power of people. His BIG HEART and desire to ALWAYS help will forever be missed by everyone he came in contact with. A few of his passions including rooting for the Carolina Panthers, Duke Blue Devils and Milwaukee Bucks. Being an avid sports fan, he would often take his competitive nature online in games of NBA 2K, and Madden. Promoting his local community in the music industry was always a pleasant pastime of his. Believing in the their work he would share posts on his social media pages to share their works with the world. Marcus also had an eye for photography and art. A man of pure talent and vision his perspective was always very refreshing. Above all else spending quality time with his loving wife, helping their children with school work, watching movies and ensuring everyone in his house was happy was his single most important priority. He was preceded at heavens's gates by his Grandparents Roper and Rosa Evans and Grandfather Charles Henry Uzzle, Sr. Marcus is deeply loved and survived by his middle school sweetheart, Kiara Evans, married 2 years. He leaves to treasure his memories his son Eli'jah Evans, Jayana Delk and a nephew for whom he treated like his own Saveon Greene; his parents Riley and Tracy Evans, god-parents Tyrell and sherry Ashurn, Grandmother Mary Jean Kendall, brother Riley Evans, II, sister Aleshia Riddick ( Dominique) sister, April Evans brother, Anthony Evans, God-sister Sherell Ashburn, God-brother Gregory "Gee" Ashburn, nephew Jaden Evans, 2 nieces, Amiyah Williams and Calie Evans and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Marcus was a loving husband,father and most of all friend. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 12 pm Saturday February 29, 2020 at Shivers Funeral Chapel. Viewing will take place Friday February 28, 2020 from 4-7 pm at Shivers Funeral Chapel. Marcus is in the loving and professional care of Shivers Funeral Chapel.

Burial Date February 29, 2020

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 12pm Saturday February 29, 2020 at Shivers Funeral Chapel. Viewing will take place Friday February 28, 2020 from 4-7pm at Shivers Funeral Chapel. Marcus is in the loving and professional care of Shivers Funeral Chapel.
