Corine Allmond entered into eternal rest after a long illness on Thursday, March 13, 2014 at Riverside Hospital. A native of Isle of Wight County, she was born on July 12, 1933 to Fred and Sarah Edwards.Corine was the youngest of six children. She attended Isle of Wight Training School. Corine met and later married Robert M. Allmond on September 23, 1950. From this union of 59 years, three children were born. She accepted Jesus at an early age and joined Ebenezer AME and later she joined Jones Grove Baptist Church. There, Corine joined the choir, became member of the Deaconesses and worked on several committees. Corine was employed at Gwaltney until she became ill.She then spent her time trying to help others. She collected healthful hints intending to write a book one day. She is preceded in death by her husband Robert M. Allmond, her parents Fred and Sarah Edwards; her brothers, James Edwards, Raleigh Edwards, Fred Edwards; her sisters, Ernestine Hill, and Beatrice Hayes. Corine is survived by two daughters, Gloria Montgomery (Howard) and Patricia Glover (Dwight) and one son, David Allmond; five grandchildren, Anthony, Andrew, Michelle, Tameka and Alex; three great grandchildren, Jordan, Autume', William, along with host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A homegoing service will be held on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Shivers' Funeral Chapel, 12749 Courthouse Hwy, Smithfield, VA 23430.Internment will be at the New Jones Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.A viewing will be held on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at Shivers' Funeral Chapel from 4:00p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Professional services entrusted to Shivers Funeral Chapel, Smithfield.

A homegoing service will be held on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Shivers' Funeral Chapel, 12749 Courthouse Hwy, Smithfield, VA 23430. Internment will be at the New Jones Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at Shivers' Funeral Chapel from 4:00p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
